*updated* Problems with my phone - Incompetence of Telia Sonera

After a few weeks of trouble shooting various problems all issues are now resolved! I also got a good explanation from Telia and a nice compensation. So, no more hard feelings from my side towards Telia Sonera.

A few weeks ago i got Telia Fiberlan which is a fiber service containing Telephony, TV and Internet via fiber. TV and Internet work OK but …..

For several weeks i have been trying to move my home phone number from Bredbandsbolaget to Telia. Telia has had all sorts of strange explanations about what was wrong and blamed the problems on me and Bredbandsbolaget ;) surprise surprise.

When I first was in contact with Telia about my home phone subscription with them I gave them a written authorization to terminate my contract with Bredbandsbolaget. I did that on Telias request. Telia told me that i would be able to use my home phone within 5 work days, so far so good (I thought).

After 10 days i gave them a call. When i finally got to speak to someone after spending two (2) hour in queue they told me that the transportation of my phone number had failed because they did not have a written authorization by me?! I asked Telia if they could start the process of moving my phone number from Bredbandsbolaget without a written permission from me. The answer was no.

After a few minutes of discussion the truth was reviled. Telia had lost my authorization in some system of theirs …. Impressive! Then i decided to escalate this matter.

The day after i got a call from a nice manager at Telia. He was very nice and apologized about what had happened. We decided that the quickest way of getting this over with was for him to send me new papers so that i could give Telia another written authorization.

The days went by and I did not receive any papers from Telia. Then the manager called again to let me know that he now had received my authorization?! WTFM8!!!!!!

So today is the big day. The day of transfer of my home phone number. The transfer should have accrued at 0800 hours local time. I was not able to authenticate with the pin code i got from Telia until 1900 hours. Then the system accepted my code, finally. After the code was accepted i was asked to hang up and wait for 2 minutes. After a couple of minutes i tried to make a phone cal. To my huge surprise i was one again prompted to enter my phone number and pin code. The pin code was not accepted this time.

After one hour (50 minutes of wait and 10 of actual talk) with Telia support the nice support person came to the conclusion that I should wait until tomorrow because she did not know what to do.

So, here I am. No home phone for in or outgoing calls. If you want to reach me or my wife you can call us on our cell phones.

Thanks Telia, good job.

I have also had similar probs with telia. there are so many people i have spoken to solve my problem.the system doest work because every says something completely different to solve your problem and you dont know where you are. some of them are so incompetent you wonder how they got the job in the first place.they want to blame the problem on the computer program when problem lies with telia server and i know that . And if you dont know the language well enough it becomes almost impossible.
