Rendr Markdown

Preview Markdown as you write. Rendr shows your Markdown files as native previews on Mac, iPhone, iPhone Duo and iPad, and renders everything on your device.

Mac

Beside your editor on the Mac

Open a Markdown file from Finder, with Open With, or from your editor, and keep writing where you are. Each time you save, Rendr updates the preview.

In Finder, select a Markdown file and press Space to see it with Quick Look. Presentation Mode shows the document full screen, with larger text and no preview controls. You can also browse a folder, open the source in your editor, or open its folder in Terminal, Ghostty or Kitty.

iPhone, iPhone Duo and iPad

On iPhone, iPhone Duo and iPad

Rendr opens Markdown files from Files, iCloud Drive and other apps where they are. It doesn't import or change them.

Rendr runs on iPhone Duo too, with the outer display closed and the inner display open.

Use the heading outline, find, zoom and document information. On iPad, every command is in the menu bar, keyboard shortcuts match the Mac, and you can open several windows.

Mermaid, PlantUML and KaTeX, offline

Rendr includes Mermaid and KaTeX, so diagrams and math render on your device. Fences marked mermaid draw Mermaid diagrams. Fences marked plantuml or puml use a supported subset of PlantUML for sequence, class, state, activity and other common diagrams. Anything outside that subset stays readable as source, with a short error.

Rendr reads GitHub-flavored Markdown, including tables, task lists, footnotes, alerts, autolinks and heading anchors, and highlights the syntax in fenced code. Choose the GitHub, Reader or Developer theme, or one of the five Token themes, in light, dark or system appearance.

Print, share and export

On the Mac, print or export paginated PDF, continuous PDF, or HTML without scripts. On iPhone, iPhone Duo and iPad, share or export continuous PDF or HTML, or print. Exports go only to a place you choose, and exported HTML never loads remote content.

Your documents stay private

Rendr has no account, analytics, telemetry, document uploads or remote rendering service.

Remote images and media stay blocked until you load them for one document. Loading them contacts the server that hosts them, which may see your IP address. Remote scripts, styles, fonts and frames always stay blocked.

Don't send private documents, passwords, full file paths, logs or diagnostic files.
